Marketing Associate

Job Description

Sprout is looking for an individual to join our marketing team! The ideal candidate will have interest and experience in writing, passion for parenting (with ideally experience in online communities), work well with others, strive for consistency, and be creative in fulfilling responsibilities. Writing content for social media, blogs, and email will be the bulk of the work, but team members will also edit photos and videos, design graphics, and update web pages. Production of content will require collaboration between team members to ensure it is up to established standards.

Responsibilities may vary considerably depending on growing company needs and your own desire to drive innovation, but will hopefully include future ownership of
product research, external collaborations, photo/videography, and in depth data analysis. Training is offered internally to grow in these directions, with compensation increasing as you learn more skills.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Write content that addresses the needs of parents (and inspires!) in the following areas:

      1. For nurturing the child: Sleep & Rest, Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Dressing, Feeding / Eating / Cooking, Literacy

      2. For empowering & supporting parents: Observation & Adaptation, Shared Experiences, Respect for the Child, Ecological / Social Responsibility

  • Maintain valuable contact with customers through different mediums

  • Record, review, and analyze data related to social media, emailing, revenue, and other areas

  • Maintain Sprout values while following and improving established standards and processes

  • Bring true value to our audience with a customer focused perspective and voice

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years relevant experience or education preferred (fields such as writing, marketing, graphic design, photography/video, elementary-age teaching, child rearing)

  • Photographic and/or visual design experience preferred

  • Ability to write succinctly, persuasively, and centered on our mission: to help parents create spaces that foster independence, creativity, and resilience in children.

  • Team-oriented

  • Familiarity with online parenting culture (blogs, popular approaches, influencers/mom bloggers)

  • Familiarity with parenting and education frameworks (including Montessori, RIE, Reggio-Emilia, Forest Schools, Waldorf, etc.)

  • High attention to detail--Any piece of content you write/design/ or edit may be seen by over 100,000 people.

  • Experience with social media and Google Suite

Hours and Compensation

$18-$27 DOE. Compensation can increase over time based on growth into new skills for which we offer training. If your experience is close to our trainings that will be taken into account for our initial offer.
Full-time 40 hours per week, part-time also available at 20+ hours per week
