Manufacturing Engineer

Job description: As a member of the Production Support team, you will help various production lines improve efficiency and quality by providing support through application of lean principles.


As a Manufacturing Engineer you will work towards achieving the Production goals and objectives of Sprout. You will use your expertise to identify and recommend improvements by applying the relevant principles.

  • Confer with PLM’s to evaluate and determine improvements that need to be made, and provide expertise on the best method to do so.

  • Help to determine the root causes for any system inefficiencies.

  • Provide Support for the following:

    • Value stream mapping & tact time analysis

    • Equipment design & implementation

    • Process development, standardization, & documentation

    • CNC programming to support small batch sizes, minimize cut time & change over time

    • Monitoring of issue reporting for trends and possible improvements

    • Work with line managers to perform root cause analysis

    • Improvement of quality standards & implementation

    • Supply chain development with vendors to improve cost, quality, & reliability

    • Training production personnel on lean principles


  • Adaptable to accept new changes in the field of lean manufacturing and should remain knowledgeable with the latest developments happening in that field.

  • Extremely well organized.

  • Ability to identify problems and resolve them quickly.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Planning and implementation skills.

  • Self driven with positive attitude and result oriented.

  • Excellent analytical skills combined with good negotiation and conflict management skills with proficiency in computers.

  • Methodical use of engineering principles to create robust and repeatable systems
