Industrial Design Internship

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled, or soon to be enrolled in a BA program in Industrial Design.

Format:

The internship will have three periods. The first period will consist of a few days working out on our production floor, getting experience with our production processes and constraints. The second period will be a few weeks working in product documentation and visual communication. The last period, lasting through the remainder of the internship, will have the intern working on a product development project involving some of the following: needs finding, design research, aesthetic development, CAD, product prototyping, packaging design, photography and photo editing, and creation of customer-directed graphic materials. The intern will be expected to complete other small tasks during this final period as well.

Hours:

At least 160 hours over the course of 4 months. This is a minimum requirement set to ensure that you have a valuable experience, and that you have time to get up to speed and make a meaningful difference. If you are interested in doing additional hours for more experience or to complete requirements, we are usually able to accommodate your needs.

Compensation:

Industrial Design interns are paid $10.00 per hour.

College Credit:

Quark Enterprises will work with you to get college credit. However, it is the responsibility of the intern to lead out in making sure these requirements are met. If additional hours are required, this isn't a problem.
