Production Line Manager (PLM)

Sprout is a furniture manufacturer whose mission is to help create environments that foster creativity, independence, and resilience in children. We are looking for a production line manager that is motivated, highly efficient and experienced.

The primary objective of a Production Line Manager (PLM) is to ensure that quality product is produced and shipped on time. The PLM is expected to efficiently manage a team of 8-10 members, a CNC Router, and raw material. It is the responsibility of the PLM to maintain and improve the ability of the production line. Sprout expects a PLM to be a leader in promoting great workplace morale and adhering and upholding others to the Sprout Code of Conduct. We expect a PLM to grow in their knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles and apply them in their given responsibilities.


  • Reliability: Consistently meet or exceed commitments, standards, and reputation.

  • Efficiency: Efficiently use resources entrusted (labor, materials, fixed assets)

  • Set a standard for hard work, conduct, and leadership: Be an example and work side by side with team members

  • Interdepartmental coordination and accountability

  • Supervise team & workforce: manage appropriate staffing

  • Follow and improve daily rhythm to ensure efficiency and accountability

  • Attend, report & contribute to weekly production meetings

  • Monitor capacity & demand and coordinate plans

  • Communicate & coordinate with proper internal stakeholders

  • Ensure quality standards are met by executing incident reviews & root cause analysis

  • CNC Utilization: Ensure proper staffing and time management, verify CNC maintenance

  • Oversee team member assignments to ensure diverse capabilities

  • Enforce and help develop standards when needed

  • Maintain culture of quality at source

  • Oversee material grading


  • 1-3 years of production or manufacturing experience

  • Woodworking & CNC experience preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or a supervisory role

  • Able to lift at least 80lbs intermittently with a team member

  • Able to maintain production goals in changing environment

  • Root cause analysis and problem solving skills

  • Production planning and implementation experience

  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma concepts

  • Ability to unite team members and lead them towards a common goal

  • Strong mentorship and leadership skills

  • Self driven with a positive attitude and results oriented

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent punctuality and attendance

  • Strong technological aptitude

Hours & Compensation:

$20.00-$28.00 per hour based on performance

Full Time: 40 Hours Per Week

Typical Shift is from 8:00 - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday
